The Festive Flutes opened the holiday season with a concert at the Medi-Center in Neptune City on Dec. 1. The flute choir, founded and directed by Marjorie Koharski of Neptune, featured classical works and seasonal pieces.
The group also played holiday programs at senior residences including Care One at Wall, Chelsea in Tinton Falls, Navesink Harbor in Red Bank and Waterford Glen in Wall.
The Festive Flutes, with C flutes, piccolo and alto flute, have a membership of advanced high school students. Current members of the group are Donna DeCotiis and Taylore Fowler, Belmar; Jessica Lecuyer, Toms River; Alexa Russo, Rumson; Cara Vu, Colts Neck and Emily Skarbowski, Ocean.
