Festive Flutes Celebrating 30 Years With Two Upcoming Concerts

The Festive Flutes, a semi-professional flute choir, founded and directed by Marjorie Koharski of Neptune, will be performing their final two concerts in the 30th anniversary season. The concerts entitled “Something Old, Something Borrowed, Something Blue” feature music from the baroque period to the present.

They will perform the program at Point Pleasant Beach Library on Sat., May 6 at 11 a.m. The library is located at 710 McLean Ave. in Point Pleasant Beach. The other concert will be at Point Pleasant Boro Library at 834 Beaver Dam Road on Sat., May 20 at 2 p.m.

The Festive Flutes, with C flutes, piccolo and alto flute, have a membership of adults and advanced high school students. They perform programs that feature light classical music, show tunes and ‘old favorites’.

Current members of the group are Cynthia Capotosto, Wall, Donna DeCotis, Belmar and Kylie Tang, Eatontown.
